The Steady Walk

A CALM, SOCIALLY SAFE SPACE FOR DOGS AND THEIR PEOPLE

The Steady Walk has grown from working with many dogs and owners who find everyday walks overwhelming.

Dogs who pull, react, lunge, bark, or simply struggle to cope around other dogs. And owners who are doing their best, but feel tense, isolated, or exhausted every time they clip the lead on.

Even when training has gone well and real progress has been made, confidence can dip once you are back out in the real world. Finding the right environments to practise safely is difficult, and nerves or unexpected situations can easily stall progress.

The Steady Walk bridges that gap.

What this space is about

  • This is a socially safe, calm walking space where dogs are not expected to interact, perform, or get it right.

  • There are no greetings.

  • There is no pressure to “be friends”.

  • There is no expectation of perfection.

The focus is on existing. Supported exposure. Calm movement. Clear structure. Helping both dogs and owners feel more settled walking in the presence of others.

This is not about fixing dogs. It is about creating the conditions where learning, regulation, and confidence can grow for both ends of the lead, and then be carried back into everyday life.

The Steady Walk is:

  • A calm, structured group walk

  • A shared, supportive experience

  • A socially safe environment

The Steady Walk is not:

  • A formal training class

  • A space for individual behaviour plans

  • One to one coaching during the session

Practical information:

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • 5 minute group brief

  • Approximately 45 activities

  • 10 minute group debrief

Ready to walk differently?

The Steady Walk is for owners who are tired of dreading their walks. For dogs who need space, clarity, and calm repetition. For people who want support without pressure.

You do not need a perfect dog to attend. You do not need to have everything figured out. You just need to be willing to show up, stay steady, and practice in a space designed to help you both succeed. If you are looking for a calmer, more supported way to move forward, this could be your next step.

Spaces are limited to keep the group safe and structured.
